SISHU Newborn Screening Workshop

SISHU hosted a Newborn Screening Workshop at Vivekananda Memorial Hospital, Sargur where guidance on universal heart, hearing, genetic, hip and jaundice screening was provided. Pulse oximeters were distributed to 4 local rural hospitals, and OAE equipment to one rural hospital free of cost. This workshop successfully scaled newborn screening implementation from VMH covering a delivery rate of 400 newborns/year to the local rural areas covering 4,000 newborns/year.
